Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes what Marion County Busted Mugshots receives when visitors browse, use a search tool, or send a message, as well as how that information is used and when it may be shared. Using the site means accepting the practices described here. Information held by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Georgia courts, GDC, BOP, ICE, or another linked provider is governed by that organization's own policy.

Information visitors enter

Search details

When a visitor enters a name, location, or other term into a third-party search tool, the query is sent to the provider that operates that tool. Marion County Busted Mugshots does not intentionally store or log those search terms on its own site. The provider may keep and use the submission under its own notice and terms.

Messages and contact requests

If a visitor sends an email or other contact message, the information in that message is kept as needed to read it and reply. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.

Technical information collected during visits

Like most public websites, the host and measurement services may record basic technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:

  • IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on each page
  • The referring site, when a referral is provided
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies and similar storage

Cookies may help measure how people use the site, remember limited settings, or support advertising and partner tools. A browser can block or delete cookies. Some features may respond differently when they are disabled, and a third-party provider may still use its own storage after a visitor follows its link.

How the information is used

The information supports basic operation, measurement, partner routing, and maintenance of the Marion County record-resource pages.

  • Keep the site available, readable, and reasonably fast.
  • Send search requests to the partner service selected by a tool.
  • Understand which pages help visitors and which need improvement.
  • Diagnose errors, abuse, and other technical problems.
  • Display advertising that may be related to a visitor's interests.

Government and outside-site links

This site links to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the GDC Marion County Jail entry, the Marion County Clerk, federal locators, news sources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy notice and data practices control. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, and the jail-register rule in O.C.G.A. § 42-4-7 address records held by government agencies. They do not turn this private site's visitor information into a county record.

Some advertising partners may measure activity across different websites to support interest-based advertising. That tracking occurs on their systems and is controlled by their policies and available opt-out tools, not by this site's page content.

Who may receive information

Marion County Busted Mugshots does not sell personal data. Information may nevertheless be handled by the following parties when their services are used or when the law requires disclosure:

  • Search partners that receive a query submitted through their tool.
  • Analytics and hosting services that measure or deliver the site.
  • Advertising networks that serve or measure advertisements.
  • Law-enforcement or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order or other lawful process.

Security limits

Reasonable standard security practices are used for the site and the information it handles. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however, and Marion County Busted Mugshots cannot promise that data will never be exposed, intercepted, altered, or lost.

Visitors under 18

The site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or guardian may use the Get in Touch page to ask that it be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Your choices and data rights

Subject to applicable law and the limits of information held by third parties, a visitor may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal information this site holds about the visitor.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete information that is no longer needed or that the site is allowed to remove.
  • Opt out of certain processing, cookies, or interest-based advertising where an available control applies.

Requests should identify the information at issue and can be sent through the Get in Touch page. Requests about a search partner, advertising network, sheriff, court, GDC, BOP, or ICE record must also be directed to that organization, because this site cannot alter information it does not hold.

Changes to this notice

This Privacy Notice may be revised as the site's practices, tools, or legal obligations change. A revised version will appear on this page with a new effective date or other revision notice. Continuing to use the site after an update means the revised practices apply going forward.
